Traditional costume
In Romania the folk costume is an old tradition. The costume consists of: embroidered blouse, hem, peasant skirt. It is worn in rural areas.It weave at loom in home usually by grandmother.

Costum popular
În România costumul popular este o tradiţie veche. Costumul este format din: ie, poale, fotă. Se poartă în zona rurală. Este ţesut la război în casă de obicei de bunica.


Fire of Sumedru
The Fire of Sanmedru is a tradional holiday specific to our area. Through this holiday people celebrate the rich harvest of the year. All people gather around the fire and share pretzels and croissants.

Focul lui Sumedru
Focul lui Sumedru este o sarbatoare traditionala, specifica zonei noastre. Prin aceasta sarbatoare oamenii sarbatoresc cultura de peste an.
Toata lumea se strange langa foc si impart covrigi si cornuri.



Bass is the largest musical instrument with strings and bow. It is a widespread instrument.In Romanian folklore appeared with the name of "broanca".
Contrabasul este cel mai mare instrument muzical cu coarde si arcus cu o larga raspandire.
In folclorul romanesc a aparut cu numele de "broanca".



The accordion is a musical instruments at which one can play with his hands. It is an old instrument kept even today in many areas of our country.
Acordeonul este un intrument muzical la care se canta cu ajutorul mainilor. Este un instrument vechi dar care se mai pastreaza si astazi in anumite zone.




The Christening of the baby is an important and special event for Romanian people. It is a special event for the family and for the new born baby too.
The Orthodox Church says that through this Sacrament the baby is forgiven by the old sin. This Holy Sacrement is held in the church by the priest.
Botezul la romani este un eveniment special pentru familie si pentru copilul nou-nascut.
Biserica crestin-ortodoxa spune ca prin aceasta Taina bebelusul este iertat de pacatul stramosesc.
Aceasta Sfanta Taina se tine in Biserica de preot.

I live in the commune of Candesti in the District of Dambovita. The commune of Candesti includes the following villages: Candesti Vale, Candesti Deal, Dragodanesti, Valea Mare, Aninosani, Sturzeni. It is located in a hill area.
Eu locuiesc în comuna Cândeşti din judeţul Dâmboviţa. Comuna Cândeşti are urmatoarele sate: Cândeşti Vale, Cândeşti Deal, Valea Mare, Aninoşani, Dragodăneşti, Sturzeni. Este situat într-o zonă de deal.

I study at School Matei Gr. Vlădeanu from Cândeşti-Vale. My school has eight classes. It was founded by the teacher Matei Gr. Vladeanu in 1841. It is the only school from Candesti. This is my school!/Eu învăţ la şcoala Matei Gr. Vlădeanu din Cândeşti-Vale. Şcoala mea are opt clase. A fost înfiinţată de profesorul Matei Gr. Vlădeanu în anul 1841. Aceasta este şcoala mea!

The country Dâmboviţa is my country native.It is located in the south part of Romania. My county has many beautiful hills and fields. I have posted on the blog some images that show landscapes from my county. Judeţul Dâmboviţa este judeţul meu natal. Se află în sudul României. Are multe dealuri şi câmpii frumoase. Am postat pe blog câteva peisaje din judeţul meu.

My country is in the south-east part of Europe. It is called Romania.It has all forms of relief. Romanian Plain, the Carpathian Mountains and Transilvania plateau adorn the country.I belive that my country isa very beautiful / Ţara mea se află în sud est-ul Europei. Numele ei este România. Are toate formele de relief. Câmpia Română, Munţii Carpaţi şi Podişul Transilvaniei împodobesc ţara. Eu consider că ţara mea este foarte frumoasa!
